Hi, EVERYONE. . . THANK YOU, THANK YOU,

487 TOTAL ENTRANTS --

see what the new course could handle --
better to be safe than sorry.)

4 DNF)
Duathlon: 84 Entrants (69 finishers)
Remainder of count were no-shows on race

Just a quick few comments: Thank
you everyone from Beach Haven and Long Beach
Township. Without
your support Endless Summer would not have
happened. Outstanding job by the
police departments of Beach Haven and Long
Beach Township. Kudos to the Beach
Haven EMT/Ambulance Squad, and the Beach
Haven Vol. Fire Company. Great job by
the Beach Haven Beach Patrol Lifeguards.
I want to especially acknowledge and thank
the many volunteers who came out for the
first time.
The
Southern Ocean County school's Interact Club
who enthusiastically staffed the water
tables, finish line, and directed at
transitions. The residents from Beach
Haven and Long Beach who called me to
volunteer and worked cross streets on the
bike exit onto Delaware Ave. leading out to
Bay Blvd.
Participants
know how vital all these individuals and
organizations are to their
their overall safety and event success.
Again, KUDOS TO BEACH HAVEN AND LONG
BEACH TOWNSHIP!
In answer to some email comments: Yes,
a change on the race course is already in
the works. But again, due to racer's
safety and last minute updates, we had to go
with the double run course as it was.
I think next year we will definitely have
more of a coned running lane within the loop
on Bay Blvd.
The water depth at swim time,
I had no control over.
The
wind on race day,
basically in one direction not the entire
course, I have no control over. Maybe
a slight change in the start time will help
more with the tides. Maybe drop it
back to 7:30 a.m.? TBA.
This year we started very early due to
traffic concerns,
and this being such a new event - there was
not a large public awareness of what the
event was truly about.
Again,
overall we are very, very pleased. Not
one injury, no one lost on the course, large
enthusiasm and spectator cheering.
Bigger
and BETTER yet next year! Stay tuned .
. . . Our best regards to the super
performances by so many racers in both the
triathlon and duathlon -- to all involved
with the ENDLESS SUMMER TRIATHLON &
DUATHLON,
YOU ALL WERE WINNERS.
