CHESAPEAKE CHALLENGE - ONE MILE SWIM
SCHEDULE -- TIMELINE

   JUNE 10, 2007
"Rain or Shine"

7:00 AM            Volunteer personnel onsite 

6:00 – 7:30     4.4  &  1 MILE SWIM Shuttle buses begin departures from the Park & Ride on the eastern shores (see directions) to Sandy Point State Park.
(buses are marked for each event - only 4.4 buses go to Sandy Point State Park -- NO SPECTATORS PERMITTED ON 4.4 BUSES.  SPECTATORS MAY USE ONLY THE 1 MILE SHUTTLE BUSES FOR TRAVELING FROM AND TO HEMINGWAY'S MARINA FOR THE 1 MILE SWIM EVENT AND VIEW THE 4.4 FINISH.  BUSES WILL MAKE PERIODIC TRIPS TO & FROM THE PARK & LOCK DURING THE DAY.)

7:30-8:30 AM     Packet Pick-Up -- No Race Day Entry! 

8:35 AM              Pre-Race Meeting 

9:00 AM              Race Start  
Swim course is triangle shaped loop.  Same start and finish on the small beach area next to the twin bridges at Hemingway's.

9:00 AM              1^ST Wave Starts;        Wave 1 Cutoff  - 10:15

9:05 AM              2^ND Wave Starts ;        Wave 2 Cutoff - 10:20

9:10 AM              3^RD Wave Starts ;        Wave 3 Cutoff - 10:25

9:15 AM               4 ^TH Wave Starts :        Wave 4 Cutoff – 10:30

10:30 AM            Race Finish

11:00 AM            Awards Ceremony

       These are anticipated start times.  The Race Director reserves the right to vary the start time to account for deviations from the predicted tide and current conditions, as indicated by NOAA.  Therefore, a start window of between 8:00 am and 10:00 am has been established to allow maximum flexibility.
