Well, the spoiler of course, was this morning's rain.  Actually, it was worse early in the morning during course set up.  By race time, the rain stopped, with mild temperatures.  There was wind but it was manageable.  The (really nice park & neighborhood) 5K course is a giant loop course so the wind was never a major factor in one direction.  Care had to be taken with the footing due to all the wet leaves that fell during the night's heavy rain.  All indoor facilities at the start, then after the finish everyone walk about 3 1/2 blocks to the municipal building for refreshments, awards ceremony and the opportunity to by chances on many donated gift baskets and buy many yummy items from the cake sale. 

To honor the memory of Michael A. Miller, the event proceeds are awarded, in the form of the Michael A. Miller Medical Scholarship, to a graduating senior from the Haddon Heights High School who is pursuing a career in the medical field.  (Last year a $2,500 scholarship was awarded!)

The holly tree pictured above was planted by the young students from Michael's school directly across from the finish line park.  It is in honor of Michael.

Thank you to all those who came out and ran or walked in the 2nd Annual Run 2 Remember. . . in less then incentive weather, in the early morning hours, when debating to head out of the house in heavy rain!

Congratulations to the Miller family, and their many friends who worked so hard on this event in all aspects of fundraising for such a worthy cause.
