April 6, 2002 - Kuztown University, Kutztown, PA  -- 13th Annual Fools Run 5K & 10 Miler Scholarship Races -- Presented by the Kutztown Area Chamber of Commerce.  Weather was quite crisp, in the low 40's, but the running field came to run.
  
Congratulations to the 5K Overall Winners:
Greg Cauller, 42 years old, York, PA in a strong winning time of 15:47.  Paul Jones, 26 years old, Marietta, PA took 2nd overall in 16:01, and Patrick Belmont, 24 years old, Bethlehem, PA was 3rd overall in 16:15.

On the women's side . . . Ann Wambui, 21 years old, West Chester, PA really had to kick in for a time of 17:23, with Rosa Apaza, 22 years old, Allentown, PA really kicking to take 2nd overall in 17:24.  A fight to the finish.  Vicki Bayer, 29 years old, from York, PA rounded out the top 3 women with a fine finish time of 17:51.

Kudos to the Top Winners in the 10 Miler:
Matthew Sandercock, 32 years old of Havertown, PA took first overall in a solo 52:12, and from Allentown, PA Ivan Condori, 36 years old, also took a solo 2nd overall in 53:17.  Closing out the top 3 was triathlete Todd Wiley, 31 years old, Doylestown, PA in a fine 53:51.  Looks like Todd is going for a strong tri season this year.

The women also showed good form with Wendy Barrett, 33 years old, Lebanon, PA winning 1st overall in 59:51.  
Connie Buckwalter, 31 years old, from Lancaster, PA was 2nd overall in 1:0l:21; and Mardi Graf, 25 years old, West Chester, PA won 3rd overall female in 1:06:45.

Congratulations to all the runners in today's race.  Many good efforts and dedicated runners to the 13th running of the Fools Run.  Your support is greatly appreciated by the Kutztown Area Chamber of Commerce, their sponsors, and the many volunteers who make up the Fools Run.

Event Proceeds benefit student scholarships of Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood and Kutztown area school districts.
